Lighting Test - High Key With Soft Edges

Creating A Dreamlike Quality

The soft, minimally directional lighting was created with one off-camera flash bounced in a white room.

I opened the lens to its widest aperture to accentuate the dreamlike quality of the image. The subject was placed on a folded bedspread. With most of the bedspread out of focus, it looks like a cloud.

I'm hoping that the subject liked the photo. She didn't say anything about it, either way, but I'm fairly confident. When it comes to lighting, we don't toy around.

Santa Monica Pier At Night

Chasing The Light Fantastic

I thought that I had arrived too late to get a worthwhile shot of the pier. By the time that I found a good vantage point, the color had faded from the night sky.

Always take the shot. Good things might happen.
